Our first event for the FIFTEENTH Quilters Land Cruise will be at Sew ‘n Save of Racine, one of our sponsors. We are planning a unique evening that will include the following:

We will continue at the Radisson with our now-famous Chocolate Salad as we Meet the Teachers and close with a workshop by Wendy Rieves so you can make your OWN quilt version of Flat Stanley so “she” can be photographed in front of your landscape quilt!!!

SATURDAY, MARCH 5, 2011

We have found great teachers including Natalie Sewell who will teach a 15 hour, 5 session class so you can learn ALL her landscape techniques. Natalie was one of our teachers at the FIRST Quilters Land Cruise in 1997! Chris Lynn Kirsch will come back to teach her Architectural Repliqué technique plus a neat “Snuggle and Learn” quilt. Sandy Schoettler will show you how to make a cool tote bag and add a landscape design. Plus lots more great classes and teachers TBD (To Be Determined!!) The basic schedule will be:

9 am to 12 noon Classes

12:15 pm to 1:15 pm Lunch

1:30 to 4:30 pm Classes

We are planning another very special Dinner for Saturday evening! Following the dinner, you can choose to come to our now popular SEW Relaxing, enjoy our Quilting Bee, or, if you are in Natalie’s class, your third session will be 6:15 to 9:15 pm .

SUNDAY, MARCH 6, 2011

Our classes on Sunday will begin at 9 am and continue to 3:30 pm . We will close the FIFTEENTH annual Quilters Land Cruise at 3:45 pm with a class Show ‘n Tell and many wonderful door prizes – and you MUST be present to win!

Our FIFTEENTH Land Cruise pattern will be available at the event for $5. It will reflect our theme of “Landscape Quilts”.

DOREEN’S WELCOME QUILT

Doreen Speckmann passed away unexpectedly in September 1999. Quilters around the world have made blocks for a huge quilt in her memory. It is displayed each year in the lobby of the Radisson. This quilt is available for exhibit at your next quilt show. For more information, please e-mail Barbara Vallone at QltingB@aol.com .
